Bloomsbury, on leafy, residential Manningtree Road in Hawthorn, is a development of nine high-end townhouses designed by architects Jackson Clements Burrows, eight with three bedrooms and a study (or “flexi room”) and one with four bedrooms.

Located six kilometres east of the city centre, the project is a short stroll from the shops and cafes of Burwood Road, with Glenferrie Road shops another 700 metres away at the other end of the street.

There are excellent public transport options from Bloomsbury, with the route 75 tram 200 metres away and Hawthorn train station within 400 metres.

The location is also surrounded by the roll call of private schools of the area that lure so many families to Hawthorn, and is only a kilometre from Swinburne University.

Divided into two buildings with a landscaped communal garden and deck in between, the townhouses have an articulated brick base with dark metal profile cladding designed to pay homage to the Edwardian and Victorian houses of the area. Timber cladding and steel loops surround the entrances, which will be softened by magnolia trees.
